Dr. Lenhart violated HIPAA several times. She regularly left prescriptions in an envelope taped to the outside door of the home office with the patient's full name written on the outside. This door opened to the yard. Other patients or anyone at the house could have taken it. It would reveal the full name and birthdate as well as the medication. Yet she adamantly refused to fax prescriptions because she said she didn't trust the pharmacies.
She also billed for full sessions even though several were interrupted and cancelled by her after 10 minutes due to an emergency. Yes, emergencies happen but it is not ethical to charge for a full session.

I'm going to be honest - I don't typically go online to write reviews but I feel so strongly after seeing Ms. Lenhart that I need to post about her. Background on me: I'm a 30-year old professional female with a BA and currently getting my MBA. This review is in response to my first visit to Dr. Lenhart's office:

The first 45 minutes were fine, mostly information-gathering about my past, my health, my well-being, medications I was on, concerns I had about how I was feeling, and etc. In the last 10-15 minutes of our visit, she asked me about previous therapists and psychiatrists I had seen I explained recent challenges I had had over insurance and talked through success stories and non-success stories of previous doctors and then she cut me short and accused me of being "negative." I was trying to explain to her what has worked and what has not worked in the past in terms of therapy and she started yelling at me and telling me that I was unwilling to commit to therapy and it became clear that she was taking some of my feedback of past experiences deeply personally.

She clearly was not objective, she was offended by the fact that I was not happy with my previous therapist and she honestly yelled at me as though I were a child. I wasn't trying to offend anyone and was shocked at the turn the conversation suddenly took. She was incredibly unprofessional, had a horrible bedside manner, and made assumptions about how I feel about therapy within just an hour of talking to her. I've never felt so attacked by a "professional" in all of my life. Clearly she took my complaints about previous therapists very seriously when what I was trying to convey was, "This didn't work out but I want someone to help me, can you help me?"

When you are honestly trying to reach out for help and you get accused that you are not taking your therapy seriously - How is that good for your health and well-being?

I am honestly mystified by this experience. A therapist must first be objective and then, over time, offer guidance and feedback. Instead she yelled accusations and took what was honestly venting to heart. She made the session about HER and not HER PATIENT. Completely unprofessional and offensive. I would avoid at all costs.
