About

Alessandra Wall, Ph.D.

As a licensed clinical psychologist I help people understand why they feel anxious, depressed, angry, or simply confused. I work with every individual to create a personalized plan of action, to help them restore balance and regain control in their daily life.

I am the co-founder of PsychSanDiego, a full service psychotherapy practice. At PsychSanDiego we provide individual, family and group psychotherapy. We see children as young as four, adolescent and adults.

I specialize in working with people who suffer from anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and relationship issues. I also help parents build their parenting skills and develop individualized behavior modification plans both one on one or through seminars and workshops.

Training Child and adolescent psychotherapy is a specialized field. Although children and adolescents experience the same types of emotions as adults, they often express it differently. Getting a child or a teen to open up and participate in the therapeutic process sometimes takes creativity and ingenious approaches. This is important to understand when choosing a therapist for your child. It is also sometimes hard for concerned parents to understand that their child has a right to confidentiality and privacy, just as an adult would. Confidentiality in pediatric psychology does not mean that the parent is kept out of the therapy process, but it might mean that they can't know everything their child shares with the therapist.

Payment Options I work with most major PPOs, as well as Tri-care members.

In some cases, my patients' finances will not allow them to afford my full fee. On a case by case basis we sometimes come up with sliding scale to determine an appropriate fee.

As a new mother suffering with postpartum depression, I was looking for relief and assurance that what I was going through was normal and ok. Instead, Dr. Wall literally said, "I don't know how to say this without, I don't want to say 'piss you off', but I guess, make you angry. It sounds as though you are having a pity party." Seriously!?! You tell a person who seeks you out in their darkest, most vulnerable moment of depression that she is having a pity party? Who are you? I will NEVER see her again. I highly discourage anyone who doesn't want to leave feeling worse than when they went in to see this woman. She was horrible!

I brought up several issues that she ignored. She laid out a plan of action that was multi-step and confusing. Several times I had to have her repeat what she just said. She is also extremely verbose and patronizing. Two qualities you would never like to see in a well-qualified, compassionate therapist. Worst experience EVER!
