If I couldn't find anyone better, I'd return again, but I found a more convenient hematologist closer to my home.

The practice does oncology on a mass basis. You are more than a number there, but not by much.

This physician is very smart and has great technical acumen. However, I had problems communicating. It seemed as if I always needed to drag information out, which was often delivered rapidly, creating the need to ask for repetition. A lot of technical terms are used for the disease, tests and medication. I almost always had to ask two or three times to get down what was being said, then almost always needed to follow up to find out what it meant. If your style is "Here I am, tell me what to do", this may be a perfectly adequate practice. If your left brain is going full tilt and you want a ton of detail to understand what is going on, it can be an uphill swim.

Communication is difficult. Over 6 years, I was never offered a way to reach my doctor other than leave a message with the admin, and the doctor would call me back at some later time. There was not a way to email, text or otherwise be in any control of the information flow. I did have difficulty establishing the way I wanted to be called back. Since I have young children at home, I did NOT want calls to come to my home and/or be left on the voice mail. Yet this was something that happened on a recurring basis. At one point, my oncologist called me on my business line. I do not believe that I every provided this number, asking to be called through my cell phone only.

They're always able to answer simple questions over the phone. They only make me schedule appointments if necessary. But it seemed to always be a two or three step process to get the information I needed. If this provider has helpful information available online, it was sure hard to find. They were very polite and helpful and made sure that I had everything I needed.

This practice is located in a high rise across from Northwestern Hospital. Unless you live on the Gold Coast, it is difficult to get to. Traffic is always congested in the neighborhood
