We have seen Dr. Freilich three times now and each time she is very argumentative and defensive when as parents, we question diagnosis and treatment. At our most recent visit she even made a face as if to say "are you dumb?" when I asked for information about a medication. As a parent it is my duty to advocate for and understand what is being recommended for my child and I don't expect to be made to feel like an imposition or like I am dumb for asking a question. We won't be seeing her again!

As a mother of three new to the area, I unluckily stumbled into Dr. Freilich's office. My five year old needed a follow up visit after being diagnosed with an ear infection a couple weeks earlier. After a lot of hurdles to schedule the apt. and provide all of his medical records, we got in on a Monday morning. Unfortunately, the day before (Sunday) he started throwing up and our 1 year old was sick all night too. Dr. Freilich was less than welcoming, didn't read any of our file before seeing us, and reluctantly answered my questions. She showed no interested in my children's well-being whatsoever. Given my baby's obvious illness and her diagnosis of my five-year-old with strep, I asked if the screaming baby in my arms should be checked for strep and she said she'd have to schedule him to look at him at all. She could squeeze him in after two other patients at least 30 minutes later. I said he is right here (sick and irritable and LOUD), the swab takes five seconds to do, and I will pay for the visit. She acted like he wasn't in the room (despite his snotty face, red cheeks, exhausted teary eyes, and screaming) and declined. Okay, I understand that is their policy. What I don't understand is why no one in the office suggested that my child be "put on the schedule" when I walked in with an additional sick child. They could have said, "do you want to see if we can have your baby looked at too?" since they knew it was NOT POSSIBLE to have him considered without being "scheduled." Maybe a different time slot or different doctor or if that wasn't possible, suggest a clinic I could take him to instead. I don't understand why Dr. Freilich didn't bother to read my child's file that was so important for her to have prior to us scheduling a visit. She didn't know whether he had been vaccinated or had any allergies, claiming that she hadn't read this file yet. I don't understand why she couldn't suggest to a sleep-deprived new patient's mother how to go through the appropriate channels in order to get my children the help they so clearly needed. More importantly, I don't understand why Dr. Freilich could not be compassionate, understanding, or interested in my family and our obvious hard time. One month into a new area with no established doctor...trying to see if she would be it while handling sudden, serious illness...and she was nothing but rude and inconsiderate. I left shaking and in tears. I never leave reviews like this, but I would hate for anyone else to experience what I did.
