Dr. Awwa is NOT a good man. He knows nothing about with drawling people from medications, including benzodiazapines. I was his patient for two 1/2 long years. He prescribed me and tried me on: Klonopin, Ambien, Adderall, Effexor XR, Seroquel, Seroquel XR, Lexapro, Paxil, Prozac, Viibryd, Gabapentin, Wellbutrin, Concerta, Vyvanse, and many others that I cannot remember. NOTE: I was sixteen when I started seeing him, now I'm nineteen years old! The the longest appointment I had was about ten minutes long but they were usually five minutes. He didn't care how I was doing, he didn't have time to know how I was doing. After two years, he decided to take me from 2mg of Klonopin to .5 right like that. I was shocked because any psychiatrist who has a brain knows this is incredibly dangerous. Symptoms include "sleep disturbance, irritability, increased tension and anxiety, panic attacks, hand tremor, sweating, difficulty with concentration, confusion and cognitive difficulty, memory problems, dry retching and nausea, weight loss, palpitations, headache, muscular pain and stiffness, a host of perceptual changes, hallucinations, seizures, psychosis.." (Wikipedia). After finally seeing him for two years, he started having these episodes I guess you could call him. Where he would say everything I was telling him was a lie, he finally told me that I was hiding something and used the term "bulls**t to describe what I telling him. He said I could either come back in a couple days or not, and finally come clean "with the truth" or I could find another provider. I found another provider. My mother is also under Dr. Awwa's care, shes also overdosed three times while under his care. This man is pure evil, he only cares about himself and to make a quick buck off of selling a new prescription drug on the market or a Xanax prescription to make a quick buck. He's only good at prescribing narcotics and writing his signature all messy. He isn't a doctor, he's a legal drug dealer. He'll prescribe you anything from Klonopin to Suboxone. Stay away from this man, don't give him or CBHA your money. Let them know they need some new practitioners.

Dr Awwa was not always very understanding of my situation. On one occasion I was talking about something that happened to me and he started to laugh out loud and almost uncontrollably. He was laughing to himself without regard for me. I found that very disrespectful.
