During Thanksgiving weekend 1993, a 26-yr old patient who had reacted to prescription medications was wrongly diagnosed and criminally mistreated by ignorant residents, and died under strange conditions on Monday, November 29, 1993. Robin Kissell was the attending physician on duty. She never examined the patient during Th-Mon. Kissell was demoted from Asst Prof to clinical faculty. The hospital was placed on probation (bottom 1%), jury awarded $8M against the hospital, largest in UC history. Why would any patient seek treatment from a doctor with this record? How does she get malpractice insurance unless she has suppressed this information from the insurance company?
