My GP referred me to Dr Miranda after he had diagnosed that I had torn some ligaments below my knee. My Dr. had told me that he doubted anything could be done, but felt I should get a second opinion from an Orthopedist. When Dr. Miranda walked in, I shoed him the swelling below my knee, and told him what my Dr. had said. Dr. Miranda immediately said that I did not have torn ligaments and that my doctor had no idea what he was talking about. He was beyond rude and arrogant, i was shocked! A scan was ordered, and the result came back that I have some minor meniscus problems and torn ligaments below my knee!! Dr. Miranda told me that unless I allowed him to operate on the torn meniscuses, I would be unable to walk within a year. Since I was not feeling any pain in my knees, I refused to allow the surgery. Afterwards, when I received a copy of my bill from Medicare, it showed a charge for injections that I certainly had not received. I contacted both Medicare and his office. Eventually that charge was removed. That was three years ago, I have not had one bit of pain in my knees since. It is apparent that he would push for unnecessary surgery. And I am suspicious of his billing practices.
