I do not recommend Dr. Cancell for anyone with ankle injury. He spent very little time in the exam room and did not even take time to review my MRI results with me. He kept me in a boot 12 weeks before recommending surgery even though the entire reason I was referred to him was to determine if surgery was needed. He was dismissive of my questions about surgery and even asked why I wanted to know how long the surgery would take with a very conceeded tone. Upon seeking a second opinion it was obvious that the need for surgery could be determined by the MRI results alone. He simply did not take the time to give me the care and treatment that I needed for recovery. Yet he was more than happy to have me come back every 2 weeks for a 3 minute check up and reap the benefits of the insurance payments and my co-pay. I'm so happy I got a second opinion and did not rely solely on his lack of advice. Beware.
