A native of Connecticut, he received his Bachelor of Medicine at George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. Dr. Paolillo then performed his internship and residency in ophthalmology at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. He then served as Chief of Ophthamology at the Naval Hospital in Pensacola, Florida. After completing his military service, Dr. Paolillo opened his private practice in Venice, where he has cared for area residents for over 35 years. The first ophthalmologist in Sarasota County to perform laser eye surgery, Dr. Paolillo is an active member of the local medical community, and over the years has held positions of Chief of Surgery and Chief of Staff at Venice Hospital. Dr. Paolillo specializes in performing advanced cataract and implant procedures to restore sight in cataract patients and correct vision problems. A Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Dr. Paolillo is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the American Medical Association, the Florida Medical Association and the Sarasota County Medical Society. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a lifetime member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
