I am extremely disappointed in this office, and this doctor. I read such good reviews about Dr. Doucet and was looking forward to working with her through my pregnancy. Unfortunately, it seems that the office staff has some MAJOR issues. I went in for what was supposed to just be some blood work (I had another appointment three days from this one which was supposed to be the actual appointment with the doctor), only to find out that they actually needed to get tons of information from me that visit; medical history, family history, etc.. That wouldn't normally be a problem. But I was not prepared and was unable to provide all the information that was asked of me, and I had to guess on quite a few things (not good when it's something as important as your health). Had the office said, "They are going to want your medical history, your family's history and your husbands family's history, then you'll be sent for blood work." I could have come with a list and been prepared to answer any questions! Instead, I thought I was just getting some blood drawn and I'd be on my way, so my husband was left in the waiting room when he really should have been with me to help answer his family's medical history. Really, that wasn't a huge deal and I didn't think much of it...but I did note that the office staff was not friendly, even on that visit.
The next day (today) I get a call at 8am. I was actually sleeping because today was supposed to be my one day this week that I got to sleep in until 9! -Rule of thumb, if you are a business, do not call anyone before 9 or 10am. I thought that was just common courtesy. Anyway, a lady named Amanda left a voicemail saying I need to reschedule my appointment on the 7th (two days from now) because the doctor won't be in the office. I got up and called right back. Amanda answered and said, "Dr. Doucet has a funeral so you need to reschedule for Friday at either 8:30 or 9am, which one do you want?", that to me was extremely rude. Since when does a doctor's office call and TELL you when you need to reschedule? That's a first. All of my old doctor's would ASK when I was available to reschedule...and they didn't call at 8am with an unprofessional and rude attitude. I proceeded to tell her that I needed to call and check with my husband and I would have to call her back. Was I a little bit grumpy? Yes, she woke me up. Did I say anything out of line? No. The reason it is such a problem is because my husband works over an hour away, and we share a car. He works at 8:30am, so by the time I would get back to Corpus, it would be 9:30 and I wouldn't be able to make it to either appointment. Seeing as how she didn't really give me any other choices as far as days went, my husband was prepared to have to use one of his vacation days just so he didn't miss our first ultrasound. I called back and left a voicemail explaining the situation and asked for her to call me back. I got a call right back from the same lady, "I went ahead and called Dr. Doucet and told her what you said and she would like you to be seen somewhere else, we don't want your business.". My jaw dropped, I thought maybe she had the wrong number or that she was delusional. I said, "I'm sorry, what exactly was it that I said?", she says, "You said that it was unprofessional and a bad first impression that she has a funeral.". Okay, really? Who would say something like that?? I was so mad. I don't know how someone could literally put words in my mouth that I never said. I asked her if she had a recording of the call and said maybe she should go back and listen to it, because I NEVER said that. I was interrupted by her telling me that I needed to come over there and pick up my lab results and then I need to be seen elsewhere. Never in my life have I been so disrespected by a doctor's office, and I have never been told I wasn't welcomed somewhere. I really should have known better from my first visit, after seeing how unorganized that office staff was. They had me wait until I was nine weeks pregnant to be seen here, only to kick me to the curb for no reason while I have to try finding another doctor, which means I now probably won't be seen until I'm in my second trimester because so many offices are booked. I have miscarried before and this pregnancy is very scary for me, so to have something like this happen is just horrible and in such bad taste. AVOID THIS OFFICE!!! I can't say much about the doctor, because I never even got to meet her. But I will say if her staff says anything about the type of practice she runs, I want nothing to do with it, and you shouldn't either. STAY AWAY! This place is despicable.

I've seen Dr. Doucet once and her PA once. I was quite impressed with the amount of time the doctor spent with me and how thorough and unrushed she was. The PA was professional and kind and I was glad to find this office. The front-desk staff were friendly enough, but their smiles did not seem genuine. I was satisfied with my visit. The office was easy enough to find. I did not receive a reminder card this year (I think I was due back in February). I suppose I'll have to call to schedule an appointment. I didn't have a bad experience.
