This Psychologist was recommended to me by a school counselor. I was in the midst of a divorce and in dire need of support. It took a while to get an appointment and it was higher than normal in terms of cost.
When I first encountered this therapist I found her a bit cold. She then congratulated me for getting a divorce before even really looking at, or hearing a word from me about it. Then she stated it would probably take about "three months to get over!" She also stated that her schedule was full and she didn't have time to see me. I had presented myself in a very conservative and contained way, -- so it wasn't she worried I would be too much of a handful. Perhaps divorces didn't interest her? The Upshot is that she should NOT have wasted my time and money agreeing to see me in the first place if she didn't have time to take me on as a client, and ---- stating that it takes three months to get over a divorce is close to malpractice in terms of therapeutic Incompetence. Even the most desired divorces cause an extreme amount of physical and emotional stress that take months and months (sometimes years) to resolve and heal from. Maybe this person has been helpful to some people, but I would NEVER recommend her to anyone, ---- particularly for a divorce!
