My first appointment went O-K...just the normal "Meet and Greet" with my session time at 45 minutes. on my second appointment he was seven minutes late by starting my session at 12:07PM, He dismissed a point I was trying to make and actually cut me off in mid sentence. When I told him I was interested in CBT for my OCD, he said "that's just a passing fad and talk therapy would be best for me". CBT is highly recommended for OCD patients. Then he took a personal phone call that lasted about 4 to 6 minutes-I was four feet away from him and could hear the other person talking and due to the subject matter which made me feel very uncomfortable. Lastly, he ended my session at 12:38pm.
He seemed distracted the whole time and I believe it was due to a family matter that he was dealing with (I overheard quite a lot from that phone call). Life happens to all of us and due to the nature of the family matter, Jim should have rescheduled my appointment in order to give full attention to his personal needs instead of multitasking. As a patient, it made me feel that I was not important to him and that he wasted my time..
