So thankful to Dr. Marcum and his staff. Dr. Marcum is the expert and the staff are the heart. I was in severe pain when they fit me in. I was so scared as you really could not touch my face, mouth or anything without me screaming in pain. They have a 3d x-ray machine that detected a cracked tooth that other x-ray machines at a normal dentist could not see. The staff was soooo careful and calming. They were extremely gentle. Shelley was an angel! I can't even express how thankful I am for the care I received. The office manager/receptionist was so kind. Explaining she had the same thing happen as I was feeling so bad etc. Slowly healing here but wanted to give a shout out and hug to all at the office of Dr. Marcum. Thank you Thank you!

"You are playing Russian roulette with this impaired dentist. Need to check out all of his reviews prior to patronizing his office. My father was a dentist; I know the minimum standard of care. Marcum's treatment of me resulted in ongoing pain, infection, bone loss and the eventual loss of the tooth. This was a routine root canal. His demeanor was angry. His treatment was brutal; there is no other way to describe it. He jammed the splint used to prop the mouth open, with the heel of his hand repeatedly. That only added to the pain that felt like having a root canal done without any anesthesia. I would cry; he told me that if I cried, he would send me away. I knew the nerve was exposed or I would have gotten out of that chair and run. I was trapped. There was no attempt at alleviating pain, only causing more. His staff stood by, mocking me. When it was over, I was still in intense pain until I went to the ER the next morning. When I went to another dentist, she immediately acknowledged that I'd been traumatized. I went to another endodontist who volunteered that the evidence pointed to iatrogenic or physician caused harm. He wrote a letter detailing infection and bone loss and had to extract the tooth. I have since been diagnosed with PTSD and have flashbacks whenever I am in a dental chair even for a simple procedure.
He also violated my privacy, contacting a colleague of mine at my place of employment. How this man has not been censured is a mystery to me.
