Great experience. First visit resolution was wonderful. Had little to no wait time being seen. I would recommend Dr. Mathias for all your ear, nose and throat needs.

Six months ago my wife began having horrible pain the left side of her face / tongue / throat.

We went to our family doctor and after a few tries with basic medications, he referred us to Dr. Mathias.

Dr. Mathias was nice at first. Before he ever examined my wife, he saw she was overweight and immediately told her that her pain was likely due to sleep disorder.

At that point in time we were trusting in him as a Dr. He examined her, and accused her of digging in her ears. We explained that she does not, and he prescribed a steroid ear-drop. he claimed the pain was due to inner ear irritation and the drop would solve it "I see this all the time" he said. Before we left the office on the first visit, Mathias brought in an AmeriSciences representative who proceeded to try to sell both my wife and I a $400 per month weight loss supplementation program.

Next visit my wife's pain had doubled. Mathias stood by his idea that she was digging in her ears, and issued a different kind of ear-drop.

Third Visit: Mathias was outright rude. Telling my wife she was not telling the truth about digging in her ears. He called her a complainer. He then told her her pain was caused by acid reflux and prescribed her prevacid.

We knew something was wrong. We went to our dentist Dr. Peters. He found a mass growing behind my wife's tongue. We immediately scheduled an appointment with Dr. Holmes at the ENT Center in Macon.

Dr. Holmes found the growth, biopsied it, and discovered it was cancer!

Dr. Mathias was arrogant, rude, and wreckless. I highly recommend seeking another Dr. for ENT needs.
