Gratitude

I know it may seem difficult to think about what you're grateful for when facing a health challenge but the truth is we're all grateful for something. Let's make it easy, if you woke up this morning be grateful. There you have the one thing you can be grateful for, what you'll do with the day is up to you.

I can tell you that the research shows that we get an immune system boost when we spend time with loved ones. Experiencing love and friendship fuels our immune systems providing us with the healing energy required to meet our health challenges. Spending time with our community reinforces the impact we have on others providing you with proof that your presence makes a huge difference in the world.

Be mindful of your physical and emotional energy. Know that you don't have to live up to anyone's expectations. Keep your finger on the pulse of your energy level and rest when you need rest. If possible, allow someone else to do the cooking or take it one step further and make reservations.

You may want to spend part of the day in quiet reflection. This gives you the space to reflect on the priorities in your life. Let others know you care by making phone calls or sending e-mail cards. We all want to know that we're in someone's heart on this day.

Thank you for sharing this day with me. I wish you health, happiness and most of all, lots of laughter.
