If I could give 1 star I would. This afternoon, my dog got ahold of an apple core and began choking. We had just recently brought him to CT and did not yet have a primary vet. I called Meriden Animal Hospital and explained the situation. I informed them I would be there in 10 minutes, the woman responded, "we'll be ready". I frantically drove the 10 minutes to the office and carried my dog to the door. A large blonde woman came out and asked, "can I help you?" I told her I had just called about a choking dog, she responded of yes, I spoke to you. She then added, "one of my doctors is in surgery and the other is out right now, so you should go somewhere else." I asked what had changed since I called 10 minutes ago, she responded, "what do you want me to do?" This is just what someone wants to hear as their pet gasps for air after having driven across town to a vet. Dr. James, we never met, but your staff is anything but professional and courteous. Anyone reading this should take the few extra minutes to drive to the VCA in Cheshire (the place we ended up). Don't bother going here as they certainly will not be interested in helping, and will only serve to delay your pet reciving the needed care by an extra 20 minutes. Boo to you dog haters!!!!

Ok, this is the draft based on the survey offered by Wellness my reactions are in parentheses (...): I knew I was getting top-of-the-line treatment when they told me about what they learned at the latest conference they attended, and how they were incorporating that knowledge into the practice (whether they attended conferences or not, I do not know, but the veterinarians there all have different methods of practice - you can conveniently get three different opinions in one office on up to date treatments). There is always food and water available and the occasional random toy to play with as well (this is a question that I wondered about - I don't get food and water at my doctors office - or toys, is that what people really want when they visit a vet? Meriden Animal Hospital does offer these things, but that is not my primary concern in medical care for my pets...really Wellness???). The waiting area here is extremely spacious (yes - once again though, I have been so pleased with the care of my animals with Meriden Animal Hospital, I would be willing to wait in a smaller waiting area if necessary). They would never suggest that I buy something that wasn't necessary, and never pressured me (No, they haven't...and if I didn't like what one vet offered, there is often one or two other vets available to get a different opinion from right in the same office if you are unsure of something). They were always very considerate and professional (ABSOLUTELY!).
