Over the past 6 years I have worked with many families at Middlton Village. I have always received great feedback on their short term therapy services. Families have a lot of choices these days for their long term care and I also have worked with many families that have chosen to stay on long term with Middleton Village even though there were less expensive options available to them elsewhere. When looking into long term care - be sure to work with verafiable information to make your choice. Ask about the latest state survey, contact the local ombusman and access public record inforamtion through BQA. Lastly -- it is always important to tour and build your own opinion of a facility.

They would never suggest that I buy something that wasn't necessary, and never pressured me. They were always very considerate and professional. I will absolutely return. I had an amazing experience, and they were by far the best I've ever seen. I love how much attention to detail they show. They are always so careful and meticulous. I never have to worry about them making a mistake or forgetting something. I am going to refer everyone I know here. I absolutely love this place.

I have been at MV since September and I love it here. I have lots of friends including staff and other patients. Everyone is always friendly and smiling. They take me back and forth to my dialysis and my doctor appointments and take me on fun activities. I am leaving in about a month and I would stay if I could. And if I ever got sick again I would come back, and I tell everyone about how great it is here. It’s
bright and shiny and always clean.

Every time I come here I feel so unwelcome as soon as I enter the door. They can never seem to remember my name when I first arrive and always forget it throughout my appointment. Whenever I called with a question or concern, the staff made me feel stupid for calling. I avoided calling because I didn't want to feel stupid. I would never recommend them to anyone. They were terrible.

The Administrator at Middleton Village is inexperienced and incapable of comprehending much less adequatly responding to serious and reasonable concerns. My loved one got infected by a dangerous bacteria due to poor housekeeping and sloppy care-givers. His attidude is entirely defensiveI and more interested in covering his tracks than providing compassionate quality care. I do not take it lightly to acuse a facility as being incompetent but Middleton Village is. I would stay as far from Middleton Village as possible

there should ne RED stars to the left of the yellow ones when a place is as bad as this place leave me feeling. Just a small bit of fact for any readers who would like unbiased fact rather than profit-minded fiction. This is a FOR-PROFIT nursing facility. Some specific information about why I feel loathsome about this place: I had a short meeting withToni Juisto, an "Admissions Coordinator" at Middleton Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. I personally spoke with her on Monday 14 March 2011 to ask about a more direct method to connect my loved one with a physician to control/supervisor care. The end of the conversation in Ms Juisto's office came with her promise to email the physician who is medical director there, I didn't ask how to spell his name, but later learned he is Dr Orest Ilko Kostelyna. She also told me that he didn't come in until Thursday, but promised me that she'd get back to me the following morning with information. A medical director who misses work the first three days of the workweek, that's significant, too, isn't it? Well, now it is Saturday, nearly Sunday, and she has not got back to me. When I asked her about it on Wednesday March 16th, reminding her she was supposed to get back to me Tuesday morning, she claimed she only told me "Dr Kostelyna comes in on Thursday." Well, I made notes, Toni, so if/when you read this, know that either you are a blatant liar, or you are incompetent, or both. I'd vote for the latter. With my loved one getting no direct access to speedy medical supervision by a physician, of her critical and terminal condition; it is small wonder that the "dedicated and caring" incompetence at Middleton Village has mistreated my loved one with a contraindicated medication that has significantly worsened secondary infection problems that have kept her horizontal in bed since Sunday March 13th. She missed a radiation treatment because of this infection, and when I was able to identify (a) that Imodium AD was a contraindicated medication for my loved one's condition, and (b) did their work finding out that Cholestyramin treats both the infection and the associated diarrhea, it still took these "dedicated and caring" professionals at least 26 hours to get some of this medication to my loved one. You be the judge.

Even one star is too high for this place. I have a loved one there now, and it is a miserable deathtrap. The staff are 90% foreigners who can barely speak or understand English. They are willfully neglectful and psychologically abusive, they LIE to the family and residents, and are woefully neglegent in providing even basic care. I have personally witnessed acts of overt cruelty. They are chronically understaffed. Meals and meds are often hours late, or don't come at all. Requests for basic things like water, help with toilet, a washcloth, a drinking straw, blanket, pillow, etc., go unfulfilled constantly. They routinely ignore medical directives on diet, medications, and physical care. Sanitary conditions are atrocious, with fecal matter left on floors and in the bathrooms for DAYS. They repeatedly allow oxygen tanks to go empty. The administrators are utterly incompetent, except when it comes to cashing Medicare checks. This place is literally a nightmare - and one that NEVER ends. I fear for my uncle's very life if he stays there. Their abuse, neglect, incompetence and negligence are serious and chronic, and WILL kill him soon. The worst part is that I am reluctant to complain any more out of very real fear of retribution against my uncle. They have him, and the entire family, over a barrell. My advice: DON'T place a loved one here for ANY reason, unless you want them tortured to death. By the way, these are not the angry rantings of a disgruntled family member. I am an intelligent professional, and a very reasonable person. The truth is far worse than what I have written here. Trust me.
