I had gone to Dr. Combs for 3 years as my PCP and was mostly happy, but sometimes just felt as if I wasn't always heard. The final straw came when this doctor consistently ignored concerns and increasing medical issues (vertigo, pain, headaches, nausea, etc). I always requested a CT because I knew something was wrong, but she dismissed my concerns. After 6 months of continued problems increasing in severity (which she kept dismissing and writing new prescriptions to mask the symptoms - at one point, she had me on 7 different meds that didn't make a difference), I saw a different doc in the practice and insisted on a CT. He got me one for the next day, which saved my life. Turns out I had a brain cyst and tumor and, according to my neurosurgeon, I was about a week away from death (thanks to the swelling in my brain closing 3 of the 4 major ventricles in my brain and the 4th was about to close). If I had seen Dr. Combs again that day, I wouldn't be alive now. I didn't change doctors right away (my mistake), because I thought perhaps she'd learn and listen to her patients more. Nope. I went in about a year later for chest congestion, inability to breath, nasal congestion/pain/pressure (which I've had enough sinus infections to know what that was), etc. After I described what was going on, before even examining me, she said "'Tis the season for allergies! I'll give you some samples for allergy meds to help you out." She did a cursory listen of my chest, but that was it. A week later, I was still struggling to get a deep breath, couldn't breath when lying down, fever, etc. Went to a new doc (different practice), they listened to my chest, asked me questions, did a pulse ox test (my blood oxygen level was 89) and sent me for a chest x-ray. Not only did I have a sinus infection (which I knew), but I had pneumonia. NOT allergies. That was the final straw. Dr. Combs almost killed me because she didn't listen and then I had pneumonia and she didn't listen (AGAIN). Personally, I can't t trust her to ever actually look into my concerns and see if they're valid. I left her practice and haven't looked back.
