This review is for 2 surgeries that I had one year ago. Ultimately, I would recommend Dr. Zorc to anyone of my friends or family. The biggest of my surgeries was a sports hernia that I needed to get repaired. I am a 45 year old man that is VERY active so I was concerned about finding the right surgeon. During my research, I visited 3 highly recommended doctors to learn about the procedure. A number of things made Dr. Zorc unique. First, his office was very comfortable and the staff was engaging and kind. Most important, Dr. Zorc was patient and took his time answering ALL of my questions. I know that I can be difficult, but surgery is a major undertaking and I wanted to make sure I was making the right decision. The other doctors I visited felt a little like a factory. I am sure they did a good job but Dr. Zorc seemed invested in my personal comfort and success. The second item was that Dr. Zorc talked a lot about being "meticulous with the tissue and taking his time to ensure that the healing process went well." I felt comfortable with him anyway but I was curious to see how the results would be. Sure enough, when I got home from the surgery, I walked up 3 flights of stairs (slowly but comfortably) and got into my bed. I had a prescription for pain medication, but all I needed was Extra Strength Tylenol. My recovery was exactly as outlined by Dr. Zorc and I am incredibly happy with the results. I was able to quickly resume working out and playing sports (golf/tennis/cycling/running) pretty quickly. I still play competitively so I wasn't sure how quickly I could get back to "being myself" but I have been able to do so. Just today I played competitive tennis for 2 hours and felt great. Last month, my college roommate had the same surgery. The other day, I asked how he was doing and his response was "everything is very large and a nice shade of merlot". I almost fell out of my chair. I didn't have swelling at all and there was certainly no discoloration! It made me feel incredibly lucky all over again. I cannot give a higher recommendation to Dr. Zorc and his team.

Over the past five years, I have, unfortunately had to have three surgeries. The first was a gall bladder removal, the second for a perforated colon and the third for a hernia. One of these surgeries was particularly long and complicated and I recovered in no time because of the skill and care of Dr. Zorc and his staff, particularly his PA, Elizabeth Donovan.
He is the surgeon's surgeon. One knows that he has spent considerable time pre-surgery thinking it all through. He is also a superb diagnostician. Mild of manner, competent in his diagnosis as he explains the problem and the operation to cure the problem, there is no detail too small nor question too insignificant that he does not respond to with exactness and care.
His staff exudes collegiality. It shows in their skill, their joy in their work and their care of and responsiveness to the patient.
Efficiency is also another hallmark of the office. This last visit I was told that the surgery could not be delayed - always my preference, of course - and I was scheduled before I left the office. Pain medication was called into my pharmacy, so it could be picked up before the day of the procedure; my internist was contacted so I could schedule the necessary pre-op with him. All this done with a calm, professional manner.
I cannot recommend Dr. Zorc and his staff too highly!

I had an unexpected intestinal blockage and was admited to the hospital on an emergency basis on a Sunday. Dr. Zorc was the surgeon on call. He saw me the afternoon I was admitted and performed the necessary surgery the following afternoon. He, and his whole team, especially Elizabeth Donovan and Mindy Hong, were professional, highly competent, courteous, caring, and as good as it gets in such a situation. Coming from New York City, with its plethora of choice in almost every category, I was very impressed with Dr. Zorc and recommend him most highly.

Dr. Zorc and his PA Elizabeth Donovan performed an emergency appendectomy on me recently at the hospital. It was my first surgery and when they arrived to meet me in the ER prior to surgery, I was immediately put at ease by their patient demeanor, expertise and excellent bedside manner. They took the time to explain every step of the operation thoroughly and never hesitated to clarify if I didn't understand something. My surgery went well and I felt I received the best care possible. It meant a lot to me to be treated by such a qualified team, and I simply lucked out that Dr. Zorc was on call that day for the hospital. I HIGHLY recommend him and his team.

Dr. Zorc and his team get 5 Stars. I first met Dr. Zorc 10 years ago when he performed an emergency appendectomy on me. Last year he performed a cholecystectomy on my wife and then in January it was my turn for the cholecystectomy. (Gallbladder removal) Dr. Zorc is without question a very talented and skilled surgeon, but what I think sets him apart is his profound sense of purpose and passion for what he does. His drive for excellence and genuine concern for your wellbeing is inspiring. You will find that this professionalism flows through to his team including his PA’s Elizabeth Donovan and Mindy Hong as well as the Nurses. I without hesitation recommend Dr. Zorc.

I also recommend Dr. Zorcs Private Surgical Suite. You will feel much more comfortable there than in a busy hospital. It’s private, quiet, clean and first class. 5 Stars!

Through my experience with my gallbladder I have met some awful surgeons who don't care at all about how I feel or what is wrong. If the results in the first test didn't show urgency than nothing mattered. Dr. Zorc was FANTASTIC! He did the necessary tests and the surgery in two days time and I am feeling wonderful. His staff was ever so sweet and took care of me as though I was the only patient they had. Dr. Zorc drew out the procedure on paper so I would understand and really walked me through everything for before and after the procedure. I honestly cannot say enough good words.
