I called the office on 8/29/14 to try to schedule an appointment as a new patient with Dr. Besson. He has a policy in place in which a profile has to be completed before you are told whether or not he will accept you as a new patient. I find the form to be discriminatory. When I expressed this, I was told that the form does not ask for race. I felt the response was ignorant as one can be discriminated based on other factors other than race. One can be discriminated against based on health status, prior healthcare, socioeconomic status, age, etc. He is either accepting new patients or he isn't. Bottom line. I refuse to give information about myself such as my health insurance, name, address, prior doctor's info without me being his patient. My final response...Have a nice day, I will find another doctor." Thank God I have good insurance and options! He may be a good doctor but there are plenty.
