Dr McNamara earned his master's degree in public health from University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and his medical degree from Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago. He completed his internal medicine residency at Northwestern University and his cardiovascular disease, advanced imaging and research fellowships at University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas.
