Katelynn chose to become a physician assistant because it gives her the opportunity to pursue her passion for helping others, love for medicine and problem solving. Growing up in a small town in Northern Michigan, she saw a lack of adequate healthcare and wanted to be part of the solution. Katelynn understands how devastating it is for a community to not have access to health care, but she also understands that the compassion and selflessness of health care workers has such a positive impact on the community. This has encouraged her to never give up hope for communities similar to the one she grew up in that are struggling. She is motivated to come to work every day because she believes that everyone deserves access to adequate health care.
