What is Holistic Therapy?

Holistic Therapy is a gentle process of deepening self-awareness, healing emotional wounds, and uncovering greater self-acceptance by learning to unconditionally love self. This therapeutic approach is based on creating a safe opportunity to actually "Feel your feelings". This can happen through a sensory approach which allows humans to recover certain moments, time periods, or aspects in life that might have escaped their true memory recall.

How do I "Feel my Feelings" in this way?

With a professional therapist who understands Holistic Health and can offer positive support during this process.
By taking a deep breath, closing your eyes, and being cognizant of your personal experience.
In the right moment, staying open to describing to your therapist what you're seeing, smelling, feeling etc.
Allowing your therapist to safely support the memory recall, where you know you're still safe in the office.
Give yourself permission to explore the truth of the reality that is your life.
By making sure your therapist helps you to explore what's needed to better understand the origins of these feelings.

Why do humans sometimes not "Feel their Feelings"?
This can happen at a time in life when a human was potentially unable to get proper recognition.
Many times when an individual can't find their voice, or is unable to speak their truth, it's because those who should have listened -wouldn't. Often throughout childhood or adolescence.
If a human can not feel a feeling in the early years, it can develop a pattern, or possibly stifle the ability to understand or grasp their emotions and respond accordingly, sometimes suffering in silence.
Often times, our past interferes with our present day life because of humans getting caught in patterns, or falling prey to others who might have imposed a limited belief system onto a young, or vulnerable human and it was taught and developed over time.
There's clearly a multitude of reasons such as: abuse, neglect, trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, limiting beliefs imposed upon them and left incomplete or inconsolable, indicative to each unique experience.

These personal limitations can cause confusion, blame, shame, or mistrust without awareness. It can intensify, or restrict the potential to be free and progressive. When we take the time to discover what we're really thinking of when we get angry, sad, confused, or anxious; it can often lead to a circumstance or event that fostered that behavior originally.

Basic example, if you find yourself upset because a stranger was rude to you in the store or on the bus, you could very well be personalizing the event.

Why? Chances are, a stranger doesn't know you at all and might have their own set of issues by being rude and it had nothing to do with you.

In Holistic Sensory Therapy the time is dedicated to:

An exploration of discovering the origins of your feelings.
Completing them by carefully allowing the truth to reveal itself.
