My name is James M Shwayder, MD, JD, and I am a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist and an adjunct associate professor in the University of Florida Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. I earned my medical degree from the University of Colorado. Following medical school, I completed my internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Prior to joining the faculty at UF, I was in private practice in Newport News, Virginia, for 16 years as a clinical associate professor in the department of obstetrics and gynecology at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk.
