In addition to practicing as a counselor and marriage and family therapist in Boca Raton/Delray Beach, FL. Mateja is also a Professional Life Coach and received her training from the Institute for Life Coach Training, an accredited institution. She works with clients world-wide.
Mateja is a native of Slovenia and in addition to English, she also speaks Slovenian and Croatian. She obtained her Bachelor's Degree in English and Education. She has always been passionate about helping people and she taught English for several years with great success to a variety of age groups. In addition, she worked for the Government of Slovenia as a translator for the European Union.
After moving to the US in 1997 she settled in Miami. Shortly after that she was awarded a graduate assistant scholarship from the University of Miami in Coral Gables and graduated with Honors in 2003 with her Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. During her internship, she worked with cancer patients utilizing holistic approaches, such as guided meditation. In addition, she was a research assistant at the University of Miami Department of Pediatrics. Mateja continues to grow professionally and her next goal is to become a certified Hypnotherapist.
