I'm sorry to say that my mother received terrible care during her 11 days in this facility. The facility is dirty, essential equipment is broken or unsafe, and staff takes no measures to wash hands or use hand sanitizer between patients. 75% of the nurses and aids need to be fired. They are cold, uncaring, and have no clue how to work with patients and families during such a difficult time. The pastor (Shane) is completely clueless when it comes to counseling or comforting dying patients and bereaved families. He defers everything to the social worker. If you ask a spiritual question he gives you a 'deer in the headlights' look. He has no business working in a facility like this. There are 2 RN's and 3 aids who are exemplary. The volunteers are amazing, each and every one of them. Other than those few people, our experience with the staff was a nightmare. Other than administering morphine and Ativan, the staff rarely checked on my mother. Do NOT let the hospital talk you into sending your family member here. If you care about your loved one go with MUSC palliative care instead.
I give this place zero stars. They lied to us. We took my sister there to get better. She didn't come back alive. I believe she died from an overdose of morphine. DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONE HERE. Ever ything happened so fast. I was so confused with everything. These people are not one to trust.
