I especially appreciated the way the patients were treated by Courtland Healthcare staff. Witnessed i.e. shaving of a client, talking with the patient in his wheelchair when staff member was completing her charting.

My mother was in this facility and after being under their care for a little over two weeks, we had to have her removed and taken to the hospital. At the hospital, we were advised she was severely dehydrated, had a bladder infection, and had a blood clot in her leg that the ER doctor advised had been there for at least a week. She went in for rehab for her right leg after a stroke, but she was so severely medicated by staff that none of us in the family could even wake her up. If we got her to open her eyes, she could only keep them open for about a half a second. The staff seemed unsympathetic to her needs and ignored her a lot. I feel if my family had not had her removed, she would probably not have survived another week there. Since going to the hospital and staying for almost 3 weeks, she is once again alert and willing and able to participate in a rehab program to get her mobile again. Unfortunately, due to insurance, she has had to go back to Courtland for her rehab. I can only hope and pray she survives. I am very afraid they will not take care of her. I hope history does not repeat itself. It should get no stars, but one must select at least one star to be able to submit a review.
