Very Nasty place my fathers dinner tray had a roach on it .The staff acts as if they're there only for a check and there focused only on themselves I don't recommend this place for a dog.

I submitted a review back in April when my grandmother started hospice care because she was losing weight rapidly and just not thriving. I was very concerned at first because I felt like I should have known before she was at 86lbs. I was given the alternative to have a feeding tube placed in her which I declined to do. I worked closely with the hospice team and the staff and now I am happy to report my grandmother is gaining weight and thriving again. No longer under hospice care. My point for this review is to let others know that nursing home care is never going to be perfect. It is possible if you have the money to basically put your loved one in a country club type facility but even then they are under staffed in all positions which is a big part of the quality of care given. The key is to form a relationship with staff and be concerned. I am in another state and the hospice care team kept me informed by personal calls and conference call meetings. They really cared and were diligent in helping my grandmother. She will be 91 next month and I give kudos to this facility for caring for her since 2010 and giving her a better quality of life. They are not perfect and I don't expect them to be. My expectations were not unrealistic so I have not been disappointed. I urge anyone needing to use nursing homes to research and take all reviews read with a grain of salt. Everyone's experience will be different. I will always recommend Bala. It is hard having to make the decision of making someone you love a nursing home their home for the remainder of their life but sometimes it is the only solution. If you let the staff know how you feel about your loved one they will do their best and usually go an extra mile for you. THANK YOU again 2west staff and social workers Brandon and Lolita for doing your best for my loved one.
