If I were a writer, I’d be writing a love story--but I’m not a writer. I am a mom who found out a year ago that I had breast cancer - and not only did I have breast cancer, but it was TNBC. TNBC is harder to treat than other breast cancers because it does not respond to estrogen, progesterone or HER2 - hence, “Triple Negative Breast Cancer.”

I’m not in the medical field, but quickly found myself immersed in medical articles and spending hours every day finding out what I needed to know. Everything I read scared me more and more. I saw an oncologist from a large group and then another at a major hospital in New York City for a second opinion, then somewhere else for a third. I kept hoping for the magic words I wanted to hear - “you don’t have to do chemo.” Those words didn’t come and finally after meeting with numerous oncologists I met Dr. Ben Chue of LifeSpring Cancer Treatment Center here in Seattle.

There are people in this world who were meant to be doctors. From the moment I walked into this office, I felt at home as much as you can in this environment. The entire staff was engaged and patient with me as I asked questions, and after meeting Dr. Chue--who seemed to have all the time in the world for me--I trusted what he was telling me. During the time Dr. Chue spent with me, I felt as if I were his only patient even though there were many other patients in the clinic on that day. He listened, he spoke, his assistant took notes and I knew he had a firm grasp of my fears and my cancer.

Dr. Chue has been practicing for more than 25 years. He is incredibly compassionate and knowledgeable. He treated others with worse stages of TNBC than mine and told me about some of the positive outcomes. He was honest, thorough, and also told me that every cancer is individual and there are no guarantees.

I truly believe I received excellent, personalized care, between a knowledgeable staff and Dr. Chue’s guidance. I listened carefully to what he told me and followed the protocol, which also included treating my immune system. I did the chemo and he held my hand, so to speak, all the way through it. Yes, it was rough, and he also recommended surgery--a double mastectomy.

My husband and I both agree that I could not possibly have been in better hands than with Dr. Chue and his staff. At this moment, I don’t have to do chemo again as I appear to be cancer free. Time will tell what the future holds for me, but as time marches on and I look back on this experience, all I can say is that I hope everyone can find a doctor that they can say they love. I love Dr. Chue and his staff--and my husband is just fine with that. He loves Dr. Chue and his staff, too!

My wife has breast cancer in Oct 2011, received the traditional chemo treatment till June 2012; but the cancer comes back within months in June 2013 after a routine check up. Then we have another chemo treatment again, the doctor said she could only had "months " to live, what a heart breaking news.... after two kinds of drugs, because the two were not working good, the situation became worst, the cancer cells went to the liver and you can see and feel the tumor was big and hard and with pain...
Praise God we had the chance to be recommended to see Dr Chue at the end of 2013, we flew from about 2000 miles from Chicago to be treated by him. After the first 12th times /weeks cycle, then the CT scan, amazing results, the tumor became much smaller and you cannot feel it in compared with previous experience, all the liver enzyme back to normal....we are still under the treatment now and we have faith in Dr. CHUE to heal my wife like I see so many positive and successful cases here around us in the Lifespring Treatment Center. I fully recommend any cancer patients to be treated by Dr Chue, the sooner the better!
