For those of you confused about Pain Management...YES they need a urine sample because they can't just take your word that you are not using drugs. Do you know how many people go there just for narcotics? Don't get offended by having to pee in a cup...think outside the box. I went to Dr. Dozier for 8 months...8 months of narcotics and upping my dosage and getting my body addicted to them and feeling not myself. I wanted something other than narcotics and Dr. Bethi gladly understood and never insisted that I take them...in fact she gave me a tens unit and back brace a few weeks ago and today I go for my facet injections...Dr. Dozier never even gave me the ti to saye of day to see if perhaps I wanted a tens unit or back brace, his office never returned phone calls, he never saw me unless it was time for injections when he went on vacation I was stuck with no refill, no notice and withdrawals from not having percocet after being on them for 6 months...and those of you who know withdrawals are agonizing. I'm not saying she's the best pain management doctor in the area, it's to early to say but for me so far she hasn't done me wrong. She's answered all of my questions and she doesn't use the cheap compound stuff. Yes her office may not appeal to some but some doctors care and prefer to put money where it needs to go...bottom line she cares.

This was the worst MD visit I have ever had. From Vanderilt, I thougth i was being referred to a doctor, who was going to give me facet jointn injections. When I arrived, the first thing the receptionist did was had me a cup for a urine drug test test. I told her she must be confused, I do not take drugs. I was there for injections. She said "everyone who comes here has to be drug tested". I told her, "not me". I then realized this was a "pain clinic" and they had pee cups stacked 6 high on their desks to drug test everyone who walked in. After much whispering around, they finally took me to a room. Dr. Bethi spoke to me for about 1 minutes and then took me to a room to do the injection. She was ready, when the receptionist walked in and said, "Vanderbilt did not get a prior approval, you have to stop." The truth is, they should have gotten the prior approval. The next day they called my insurance company and the procedure was denied due to no evidence of need. They did not send the results of my MRI!! How could the insurace approve it!. The receptionist then informed me they had called my doctor at Vanderbilt and I no longer needed to go there, that they would handle my "pain management". They would be treatment with drugs. Needless to say, I have made an appointment with a real doctor in Clarksivlle, who does his own treatments (injections) for his patients. I have spoken with several medical people in this area (pharmacist, nurses, nurse practioner) and they said that these "pain clinics" account for the biggest drug problem in our area. Please be aware and do not let these people get you hooked on drugs!!!
