I recently chose Avason Dentistry after seeing positive reviews online. I initially went in for a cleaning/exam/x-ray. The dental assistant that provided the service had done a great job and was very friendly. I was told I had a small cavity, so I came back a week later. My appointment was at 3:00, I was brought in at that time. At 3:15 I was already out of the chair. I proceeded to the front desk where I was quoted $211 a week prior, and now told the total was $286. I do not have insurance, so everything is paid out of pocket. I asked why there was a $75 increase, and was told that he "had to drill further than expected" and that he "put an extra layer there for reassurance" ...I was certainly caught off gaurd, especially because I was in the chair, numbed, cavity filled, and sent on my way all in 15 minutes. That is no exaggeration. After leaving the office feeling rushed, I returned back minutes later because I couldnt clench my teeth together, given the thick shape of the filling. I was brought back to the chair, where they didnt even bother to put a bib on me, and without more than a few words began quickly drilling down the filling. Five minutes and I was out the door again. Weeks later my filling is rough, extremely sensitive, and I feel as though I did not recieve proper treatment by a caring physician. I would NOT reccommend this Dentist.
Great Dentist in every way. He makes you feel like a person not a number. Great guy to speak with and very positive environment. He makes what can sometimes be an unpleasant experience bearable and he has lifted my spirits on more than one occasion. This is a really GREAT dentist!
