Daniel Tolpin, MD

Dr. Daniel W. Tolpin is a Board certified ophthalmologist currently practicing general ophthalmology. Dr. Tolpin graduated magna cum laude in Biology from Bowdoin College in 1966. He received his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in 1970 where he was a member of the medical honor society AOA and was awarded the Pharmacology Prize. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in 1974. He was then awarded a Heed Fellowship in Retina/Pathology where he studied under Dr. Taylor Smith.

Dr. Tolpin joined Lexington Eye Associates in 1975 as both a general ophthalmic surgeon and retina specialist. After performing many retinal detachment procedures and laser surgeries over the years and thousands of cataract extractions and implants, Dr. Tolpin is now confining his practice to medical and non-surgical ophthalmology where it is not unusual for him to treat three generations of family members.

Dr. Tolpin is a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society, American Academy of Ophthalmology, New England Ophthalmology Society, and Massachusetts Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.

In his free time Dr. Tolpin enjoys golf and tennis as well as walks with his wife of over 40 years and play-dates with his young granddaughter.
