The staff is professional and the psychiatrist I see is very friendly. Friendly, however, doesn't necessarily mean helpful. While I have been seeing this doctor for several years, I don't really feel that I've made much progress during this time. This doctor often tells me that I am the one holding myself back. I guess one could argue that this is always the case when a person is "stuck", but I am certainly not PURPOSELY preventing myself from moving forward. I very much want to get better - that is why I visited this office in the first place.

One other thing... Often when I tell this doctor about the issues I am struggling with, he laughs. He either makes light of my problems, or he conveys to me that my behavior is simply ridiculous. For this reason, I keep many of my problems to myself. Having somebody laugh at my behavior just makes me feel worse about myself and more hopeless about my recovery.

I was amazed by how professional and friendly their staff was. They went above and beyond what I ever expected. I've heard of a few psychiatrists that took personal phone calls during appointments, and I always thought that was so rude. Thankfully, they've never done that here. Their full attention is always completely on me. Not only was their advice completely unbiased, it was practical, realistic advice that I could implement into my everyday life, and it worked. I was very glad that they didn't leave me unattended during my consultation. I've been to some other psychiatrists that left me alone during my consultation, and I felt very ignored, but they didn't do that here.
