I felt "rushed" during the initial appointment and during the follow up visit (barring the length of time I had to wait in the waiting room). The doctor brushed off any questions that I had and didn't even tell me the diagnosis during the initial visit (I found out the diagnosis when I received a patient report in the mail a few days later). The doctor also handed me two different sample medications, one during the first appointment, and a different one during the second appointment after I explained to him that I lost my sense of smell with the first medication. He didn't even explain what the medications were for. I had to look up both meds online to find out the side effects and exactly what the meds treated for. Because of the lack of communication on the part of Dr. Yavelow and because I was made to feel "rushed" during both appointments, I cancelled my next follow-up visit. I will be seeking an ENT doctor elsewhere and will hopefully find one with a much better "bed-side manner".
