About
Dr. McCabe was born and raised in Upstate New York. She received her RN training at the State University of New York Health Sciences Center in Syracuse and completed training as a family nurse practitioner at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. After practicing nursing for 7 years, Dr McCabe completed medical school at Albany Medical College of Union University, where she graduated cum laude. She received the Frederick Hesser Prize in Neurology and the Glasgow Memorial Achievement Citation upon graduation in 1989. Dr McCabe was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society in 1988. After completing an internship at Albany Medical Center in Internal Medicine, Dr McCabe came to the Boston area for her ophthalmology residency training at Tufts New England Medical Center and fellowship training at Boston's Childrens Hospital.
Since 2004, Dr. McCabe has worked as an integral part of an annual medical mission of nurses, surgeons, anesthesiologists and lay people that work in Central America. This group works together to provide desperately needed eye care to the impoverished people of El Salvador.
Dr. McCabe raised three daughters throughout the span of her medical training and career, and now resides in Sharon, Massachusetts with her husband. She is an avid cyclist and has participated in multiple fund raising cycling events for many organizations, including the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Best Buddies (for people with intellectual disabilities) and the Floating Hospital Children's Cancer Service. She enjoys working with children in a local homeless shelter in addition to gardening, hiking, skiing and practicing Bikram yoga.

Dr. O'Ine McCabe is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in pediatric ophthalmology, strabismus, and retinopathy of prematurity.
