I would NEVER go back to this doctor. After I was taken back to the exam room by his nurse, given no instruction whatsoever and waited a few minutes, a man stood outside the room in the hallway- without introducing himself, greeting me or anything, he simple loudly said form the hallway, “um, ——- you’ll need to get your shoes off and get on the exam table!” Then he walked away. Zero introduction. Zero bedside skills. Zero emotion. After he came back to the room, I was now on the table waiting, he ordered me to put my feet in the exam tray. A nasty old looking tray where many feet have been, with NO sanitary paper. He just demanded “put your foot down” in a rude, nasty tone. He did no true exam of my foot. He didn’t X-ray my foot (which my PT specialist has since said was a necessity for my diagnosis and care). He just said “call your insurance company, see if they cover orthotics and get back with me.” He was RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL! His equipment was ancient and gross. My husband, who saw him a few years back said his X-ray machine looked 70 years old. What this doctor needs to realize is that, we, the patients, are PAYING HIM for a service. Interestingly enough, after speaking with my PT professional about Dr. Scherr, they said they hear this often about him. Thankfully, I found another podiatrist who is professional, values their patients and treats patients with dignity.
