I am almost four years post-op from Taylor's surgery on me in which he performed a septoplasty, turbinectomy and removal of a fungal ball (aspergilloma). Prior to the surgery, I had no pain, the day after the surgery, pain was present and increased for months. Finally, I was able to convince an oral surgeon to remove a maxillary molar which had been affected by an antral fistula created by Taylor in attempting to remove the fungal ball. This reduced, but did not eliminate the pain. A third, corrective surgery was performed by a very competent ENT doctor in La Mesa which reduced the pain significantly. The two years since that surgery have been spent getting the chronic infections under control and reducing the remaining pain. By not immediately addressing his operative mis-adventures, Taylor allowed an acute pain and infectious problem to become chronic, and much more difficult too remedy. When I reported the increasing post-operative pain to Taylor, he diagnosed me with trigeminal neuralgia and referred me to a neurologist. Wait times for an appointment were about two months, during which time I was left contemplating the increasing pain with no support from Taylor, or effort to improve my problems. The neurologist, after my initial interview, said that trigeminal neuralgia did not seem likely. In retrospect, I now know that there were many therapies which he could have pursued to ameliorate my symptoms. The irony of undergoing an ordeal like this is that you are too sick and depressed to pursue a lawsuit, and when you finally feel able, too much time has lapsed. I am a retired medical professional, and fortunately had the education, friends and wherewithal to eventually solve most of the issues. The average person would still be in severe pain. I will be "managing" the remaining symptoms for the rest of my life most likely.

I went to an ENT Doctor which specializes in ear, nose and throat. The visit alone was $245 and on top of that he looked in my ears, nose and throat, imagine my surprise when I was billed an additional $305 for this service. Pardon me but how else would and ENT determine and diaganose? I am beginning to see why insurance premiums are sky rocketing. Funny thing is he told me no more than a nurse practicioner at a CVS Minute clinic at a mere $75. WOW!!! lesson learned
