I was totally dissatisfied with my experience at Long Island ENT Associates in Plainview NY. I arrived 1/2 hour early for my 3:10 appointment on 10/20/15. The receptionist rudely told me that I was t oo early. I explained that I did not expect to be seen before the scheduled time. Well 310 came and went. I was not called to the exam room until 3:35 However, the young tech was so sick--sneezing and coughing all around me and touching all the utensils with the same unloved hand in which she coughed.Totally unprofessional and unforgivable!!! When I told her that I did not want to catch her cold, she rolled her eyes. By 3:50, the doctor still had not come to the exam room. Feeling uncomfortable around this sick tech, I left. Would never go back there. Total disrespect for their patients!!! Be sure to read all the other negative reviews of this office. That was my mistake. Had I read them, I would never have made the appointment.
Dr. Youngerman was fine. His receptionist and PA make the experience awful. Even though I came in early (there was no one else in the waiting room when I arrived) and was told Dr. Youngerman was running on time, others with later appointments were taken before me. They even were finished before I was taken to an examination room 55 minutes later. I also overheard the receptionist expressing skepticism and disbelief as another patient told of her hardship being relocated due to storm Sandy. The receptionist claimed," I live in Oceanside and no one was evacuated." Later, when I called the doctor with a prescription question, Beth, the PA gave advice (which ended up being wrong). When I asked if she could check with Dr. Youngerman, she snottily said she would have to interrup him since he was with a patient. I responded that there was no need to interrupt him, but that if she could ask him when he was free , that would be helpful . To Beth's credit, she did call back and correct herself. I told her that if she is not sure, to get back to a patient rather than just to respond without knowledge. I also had to wait about 15 minutes for a receipt. The receptionist told me the machine needed time, and while I was waiting she disappeared. I had to ask another person to help me. I then got the receipt. The staff in this office is rude and uncaring.
