It honestly makes me sad to have to write this and to have to leave this office. This used to be a great office. My family and I have been going here for many years. We loved the dentists, the hygienists, and all the office staff. I feel it's important for others to know what they may be faced with before making their decision to go to this office.

Truthfully, I'm not sure if Dr. Lee doesn't care about his patients and how they are treated by office staff, or if he is completely unaware of what is going on. I have emailed him and his office manager, and someone responded but it was extremely unprofessional.

My email was calm and factual, not in all caps or with exclamation points like it was written by a crazy person. It merely recounted the way one particular office person, Frida, has been treating me and my husband for the past few years.

In my email, I stated that I understand bad days, hiccups, and misunderstandings, but this unkind and unprofessional behavior has been ongoing from her.

Frida is basically the face of this office. She is usually the first person you see when you enter. She used to be so friendly and personable, in person and on the phone. I don't know what happened.

The first instance was a billing mishap. The office billed my husband's insurance for my daughter's cleaning when my daughter has completely different insurance. I know I did not write the wrong information on her paperwork. Frida argued with me that I wrote the wrong information on the paperwork and insisted I pay the bill, even though they had billed the correct insurance on previous visits. Over the course of the next few months, they continued to try to bill the wrong insurance. This mishap took over a year, maybe two, to resolve. Until they finally wrote off the bill, because the correct insurance would no longer pay for it since the visit had been so long ago.

Afterwards, her phone calls were unprofessional, bullying, and harassing, even. Someone would call to confirm an appointment. I would call back and confirm the appointment. The next day Frida would call and leave a message to confirm. Then she would accuse me of being difficult to get ahold of and not confirming my appointments.

I recently had to cancel a cleaning the same day. I called to cancel and I apologized. I have a chronic illness. I have bad days and good days. That was a bad day and I could not leave my house. She would not let up about it. She actually lectured me about taking medication for my panic attacks, which have been caused by my illness. She then told me that if I cancelled the appointment, the office might not make any more appointments for me. I asked her why. She said they don't charge for failed appointments, but it's under their discretion to not make any more appointments if three are cancelled. I asked her how many I had missed. She said that was my first, instead of stating that at the beginning of the conversation. Mind you, her tone while on any of these phone calls is very unfriendly. The phone call was unnecessarily long. She would not take my simple cancellation request and continued to harass me about coming in for my appointment.

Another instance, she called my husband to confirm his appointment and his mailbox was full. So she called me. Once I confirmed the appointment, that should have been the end of it. Instead, she was angry she could not leave a message on his phone. She lectured me on telling my husband to clean out his mailbox. My husband has an unbelievable work schedule of day shifts mixed in with night shifts, sometimes with only one day to make the transition from sleeping during the day and working at night back to sleeping at night and working in the day. He's exhausted. The last thing I'm going to bug him about is to clean out his phone mailbox so Frida can leave him a message.

I'm sure there have been other instances, but these are the ones that stuck out in my mind.

Since we only go to the dentist every six months, it's taken me a few years to finally have enough of Frida's attitude towards me and my family. I tried resolving the issue with Dr. Lee and his office manager, but they barely replied back. And what reply there was, it was unprofessional. So I'm done.
