You get angry, I get angry, and everyone gets angry. Anger is both physical and emotional and it can be directed either inwardly towards you or outwards toward others. By itself anger is neither good nor bad. It is a natural emotional reaction. It can spur you to great positive deeds or great destructive acts. Uncontrolled or misdirected anger can lead to abusive relationships, self abuse, destructive social behaviors that can lead to troubles at home, at work and with the law.

How are you expressing your anger?

Do you aggressively act out when you are angry? When you are angered, do you strike out at whom or whatever angered you? Does this get you in trouble with family, coworkers or the law?

Do you use sarcasm or mockery to express your anger? Do you use this to avoid confrontations?

Do you mouth off when angry? When you are angry do you insult people, complain or criticize?

Do you punish yourself when you get angry? Do you starve yourself or over eat? Do you hurt yourself by cutting or banging your head? Do you put yourself down by inwardly directed insults or harsh criticisms?

Do you get angry suddenly for no reason? Do you sometimes get so angry you feel you are going to explode? Does that rage boil over?

These are the negative way of expressing your anger. If you see yourself expressing your anger in these ways, especially if it is causing you problems at home or at work you should know that you can control it. There things you can do to get control of your anger. Just because people have said you have a problem, does not mean that you cannot change.
You can change the way you think!
You can change the way you feel!
You can change the way you act!
You can take responsibility for your emotions and your behaviors.

Crossroads to Change
http://crossroadstochange.com
