My counselor shared with me her battle with emotional eating. Her story gave me hope that if she could break out I could to. I was pretty skeptical when I started because I felt like I had tried every diet know to man. I met with my counselor weekly, used my tools very regularly, and bugged my counselor to death, but it was well worth it. My days of emotional eating are gone.
I’ve lost over 70lbs with this program. It has taken me a while, but I know I’ll be able to keep it off. I no longer fear putting back on the weight I worked so hard to take off.

After struggling with my weight for over 30 years, running from diet to diet, I finally opened up my mind to hypnotherapy. Heard about it before, but this was my first time as a client. At first I was nervous, but then I learned to truly love it. I realized that if I changed how I think about things, I wouldn’t eat over them. My quality of life has changed due to creating a positive self image. I no longer eat to hide from the world and feel sorry for myself. Food has just become fuel. Learning to love and accept myself without judgment has been a big step for me.

When I first started HungryHeart, I had long given up on my health and wellbeing. I knew diets didn’t work for me, so I didn’t even try them. The first thing I learned when I started the program was that I have a calming problem and had been using food as an outlet for my emotions. The more I ate, the less I had to feel what I didn't want to feel. The stressful energy had to go somewhere, so I was subconsciously diverting the extra energy to chewing and digesting excess food. I have been learning to identify my current patterns and beliefs about the choices I make and managing my emotions, and as a result, I’m continually working to create new beliefs that serve my wellbeing. I am getting better and better and definitely moving in the direction where I no longer eat mindlessly to satisfy emotional hunger.

I have learned many positive skills at Hungry Heart! I have taken everything into consideration and applied it to daily life. It has made some life changes. By joing Hungry Heart I have learned skills that will help me throughout my lifetime. I can look in the mirror and give myself a talk. I can not always feel ashamed or guilty. I can carry confidence. I know I am still new, but feel over time I will have more of an understanding because everything takes time.

I would recommend Healing the Hungry to people who are looking for help and are ready for a change. Open your heart and the healing will come. My warning would be to not read too much into it and not go off on too much self- analysis. Show up to the appointments and have faith that you are good and able to love yourself. Go for whatever improvement you think need and empowerment is yours for the taking.

The program was very beneficial. At first I was very skeptical. Especially when I was given information that I was eating to subside pain, and not because I just had a big appetite. I don’t know where I would be today if I never returned for another visit. As time passed with every session that truth became more and more clearer of my unhealthy patterns when it came to dealing with my problems.

My gains were significant but because my self-esteem started SO low I spent the first 6 to 7 sessions learning how to notice my feelings.

I do not still have issues with food, but I would be lying if I said a hard day never comes along. When I am having one of those days that is harder than others. I now have the confidence and strength to accept the struggle instead of suffocating myself with food.

I no longer go on fade diets. I make sure I eat healthy and of course allow myself to fulfill my sweet tooth once in awhile. This is the healthiest I have ever been and to my surprise, I have just started training for a triathlon. I am not very athletic, but I know no matter how long it takes me, I will make it across the finish line.

The most important aspect of this program in my life has been the increase in self awareness about what I am truly feeling when the urge to eat arises. I am much more in touch with what is going on inside myself and many specifics cravings have disappeared completely. I also have a greater confidence in continuing to make small, cocsistant changes as I am seeing results. The CD's are a wonderful tool that I use daily to help me touch in with the particular themes and goals I am working on. I also very much benefit from and appreciate the support and education provided by my counselor, as well as other programs and the newsletter tips.
