Dr. Nancy Moss gave me a psychological evaluation in high school. And she told me to my face that I was autistic, also I was not allowed to see the evaluation because I was a minor. So, last year I was able to find some time to look at the evaluation and I discovered that she lied to my face about having autism

I spent over 10 years my life being sad and depressed, not going out and dating people and thinking that I was worthless because of a fake statement by her that I have autism. She would raise her voice at me and try to convince me that I am autistic even though her paperwork says otherwise.

Also when she gave me the evaluation high school, she did interview my parents but she never did it interview with me about my issues. I had parents that were emotionally abusive, would trash up the house when they were upset, do animal abuse, I have a brother who was very inappropriate with me, viciously bullied in high school, dealt with a lot of racism and homophobia because my parents were gay couple. However, I learned over time that my inappropriate reactions in high school went to my parents and other people like her misdiagnosing me, and also I take accountability for that.

But as a psychological professional, she should not manipulate anybody into thinking that they have a learning disability that they don’t have.

Because of that, she’s had a disastrous impact on my life, and I would never recommend a person that manipulates people into believing that they have a disability that they don’t have

My daughter was in Dr. Moss's social skills group from age 5 through 18. I also met regularly with Dr. Moss to talk about her through most of those years, and she advocated for her with her school system. Essentially, Dr. Moss took my daughter under her wing for all these years. I believe she made a critical difference to my daughter, and I know she was an invaluable support for me.

Dr. Moss has treated my son in her social skills group (as one other reviewer mentioned) for years. She does an excellent job. We meet with her occasionally, and she always provides thoughtful, insightful advice. My son loves going to the social skills group and has made several friends there which, for him, is an acheivement.

Dr. Moss has seen my son for several years in her social skills group. My son has Autism. He is doing terrific- granted he receives a lot of services but Dr. Moss has done a wonderful job with him. She has always listened carefully to me and heeded my concerns. Jack loves his group sessions and she has accomplished wonders with him.

I heard great things about Dr. Moss, but I was very disappointed with my visits. I wanted my son with autism in a social skills group. My son was evaluated at $180.00 per visit (upfront). She had to visit me and my son. That came out to be $360 until she finally told me that she cannot help my son. It seems that she could only help children who could talk and comprehend better. How is that realistic in the world of autism??? Also, it took her a very long time to get back to me, and when a child has special needs, parents feel a greater sense of urgency than Dr. Moss could give. I can't believe that my rating came out as 3 1/2 out of 5 stars. That is only based on automatic questions. I would not rate the visit based on parking, friendliness, etc. In my opinion, Dr. Moss simply does not have the time or patience to provide children with autism the services they need and so was unwilling to help my son!

Nancy Moss was a very self impressed individual who was more concerned with getting her payment upfront, than actually accurately evaluating my child. My son was evaluated 12 years ago by Nancy Moss. Her exams were costly and grossly inaccurate. I am sooo happy that I am a physician myself and could detect her errors in testing. I pointed out some mistakes at the time in her testing protocols and she did not modify her results. Her exam results in some instances were direct contrast to similar testing results attained at our grammar school! I cringe to think of the poor families who do not have background like mine and take her word as gospel. We left her office feeling devastated and hopeless as she reported that according to her exams, that "unless something catastrophic happened to my son to change his mental status, he would never be "normal" but he might be able to function in society." He is actually quite normal. More so even. Gifted. Graduated high school with high honors and is currently attending college for engineering. He is a talented athlete and quite social. He was a late talker because his brain was focusing more on his mechanical abilities. I THANK GOD we did not listen to her. Hopefully by sharing this evaluation we will maybe spare another family from heartache. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!
