I took my husband to the ER this past Saturday July 29th, 2012. My husband was complaining of abdominal pain. They drew blood from him, gave him some fluids, and took an stomach X-ray and a couple of hours later we were told by the ER doctor that his blood was ‘Normal’ , they couldn’t see anything out of the norm per the radiologist at the x-ray dept. from the x-ray, so we were sent home with their standard instructions.
Our family doctor called us to let us know that she saw in the x-ray an ‘Abdominal Wall Thickening’ and for my husband to follow up urgently with the GI doctor.
How can an expert “radiologist” at this so called great hospital and the ER doctor make such a mistake when they had information that my husband suffers from Chronic Crohn’s . The kicker to the story is this is not the first time they have done this same mistake. The sad story is that because insurance issues (Group Health) we no longer can go to KGH if we do? It they will bill us as ‘out of network’
Great job in messing up yet once again Kadlec Hospital.
p.s.= Yes, try calling Patient Advocate Line= waste of time. Try calling Annett Curry the person in charge for this type of situation, better yet good luck getting a call back from any of them.
