i was referred to your hospital by VA in Asheville because they were book up until late September. Dr Mishoe was the Doctor I was referred to. I was scheduled for surgery on 23 May 2019 at 0900. I arrived at the hospital at 830 and was prep for surgery. I had not eat any solid food in 3 days because I have a problem with my stomach emptying. I was having an endoscopy/colonoscopy. I am a diabetic and eat 6 small meals a day. I have COPD, Asthma, high blood pressure, non alcohol cirrhosis, and vericees . Enlarged spleen and several other minor health problems. I was left in a on a stretcher for 51/2 hours with nothing but a paper gown and thin blanket which did not even cover my body. At 9:30 I was told they had an emergency and it would be a little while longer. I was getting stressed out because I kept seeing the staff taking people to the OR for procedures. My family members were really getting upset by the way I was treated, After I was brought back to my room, the nurse came in and said it would be about another hour because the doctor had to go pick his children up from school. My sister stepped in and said that was not going to happen, she told the nurse to get the paper work ready because they were taking me home.
I have had a series of complication since the procedure. I am scheduled to see Dr Mishoe who did the procedure next week. My family thinks I am crazy and is trying to talk me into filing suit against him and the hospital. At this point I do not know what I will do.
I hope and pray that this was not the way you treat all vets that come to you for care.
