Dr Tuberville himself was very professional and respectful. I had to put my son's dog down. He was honest with me and helped me make my decision. The lady at his front desk was rude and disrescpectul. I wasn't able to stay with my dog and that set her off. She threw something as I walked out and commenced to talk about me to other patients. She doesn't know me and had no right to judge me.

We decided to go to Dr. Tubberville to get our 2yr old black lab neutered. A friend had recommended him and after reading mainly positive reviews online, we called and made an appointment. It blows my mind that none of the reviews online mentioned how FILTHY the clinic is. As soon as you walk in the door there is an extremely strong stench of urine. I immediately had an uneasy feeling. I was also surprised to find they only accept cash or check, this is not a deal breaker but definitely information to know beforehand. For a split second we thought about just going somewhere else, but with the amazing price, friend's personal experience and the reviews online we figured everyone must know something that we don’t. We took our dog back into where they keep the dogs before their operation. The best way I can describe it is large chicken coops with newspapers on the floor and again the OVERWHELMING stench of urine. We decided to still go through with the operation. We were told to pick him up later that day anywhere from 3-5. We got there 5 minutes after 3 and went to the back where the chicken coops are. OUR DOG WAS NOT THERE. One of the assistants seemed alarmed, she asked another lady where the dog was and she answered outside in a dog run. The dogs are not supposed to be outside after surgery because they are not as "closely monitored" and can get to their stitches. We saw our dog, took him to the front and paid the assistant. I was extremely worried and asked a good bit of questions more than likely "duh" questions but Sherry was extremely patient with me and answered all of them, even told me to feel free to call if I had any concerns. We took him home and he threw up seven times that evening, I called to see if this was typical and was told that the anesthesia medicine can upset dogs stomachs. Sherry even gave me her personal cell number and told me to call if I needed ANYTHING, ANYTIME. That meant the world to me. They do not provide you with an E collar, which we knew, so we purchased one to ensure our dog did not get to his stitches. Somehow he managed to pull one out any way. After monitoring the wound for a day, I first called back to the clinic on 70th and was told there was nothing they could do and to just keep a close eye on it. We decided to take him to another vet to get checked out and to get a second opinion. Turns out he was developing an infection. Now I do not completely blame his infection on the clinic, after all he did tear a stitch out, but having a sanitary environment goes a LONG way. I do feel it did nothing to help ward off an infection, being in a place like that. This second clinic gave us antibiotics, anti inflammatory medication and a much larger E collar (obviously something could and needed to be done!!). Slowly but surely we saw improvements. Then exactly a week after his operation he started to develop a hacking cough and began to cough up a clear mucus. The text book symptoms of kennel cough!! This was the only place he had been in close quarters with unknown dogs and again it was a pig sty. Dr. Tubberville seemed nice enough, knowledgeable, but slightly distant. Sherry was a godsend and is the only reason my rating actually contains a star. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. The price is amazing, but we have now paid way over the cost of getting him neutered somewhere else that would have been much safer. Hind sight is ALWAYS 20/20. I regret not trusting my gut instinct and seeing my dog going through this is punishment enough. I truly hope that this review makes at least one person think twice and look into going somewhere else. The cheap price is not worth all this pain and frustration and now higher cost than if we just would have paid more upfront and had the procedure done in a clean safe environment.
