I contacted SMEVS for an emergency situation with a rescued horse because they are nearby. I was told that I should contact the veterinary practice that does the coggins for the horses in my care. SMEVS has done work for us in the past but we are a charity so we work with multiple vets. Many of the practices we work with donate some of the services such as coggins and vaccinations. I have always paid SMEVS immediately for their services. They have never donated anything to our rescue nor were they being asked to donate in this situation. They declined to help because they do not do our coggins?? Rather than help a horse who had suffered for a lifetime, Dr. Kennedy chose to lecture me on the fact that she did not consider me a regular client because she did not handle the coggins for my horses. I think Dr. Kennedy should have just said she could not come due to other emergencies rather than complaining their practice did not do the "gravy" work for us so they were not going to attend to a sick and dying horse who had suffered for most of his life.

I have been using the vets at SMEVS for many, many years and they are kind, compassionate, helpful and caring. They are always available which is important, because as we know, horses like to get suddenly ill at the most inopportune moment. They helped me through a most difficult case of West Nile Virus which was an at farm course of treatment by us and the vet.

I have been using SMEVS for 13 years and will continue to use them as long as I have my horse. They always have someone on call in case of emergencies. They always know it's me when calling and know my horse by name even though I've never met the receptionists in person. They keep my horse happy and healthy!

Excellent personal and phone availability (contact with 2/3 veterinarians) and office staff. Attending veterinarian always accessible via phone for questions/concerns; office staff supportive and very helpful. Love this practice!

I have used SMEVS for 30 years, I appreciate their ability to handle every situation I have thrown at them over the years. They are truly a great team and are concerned about their customers. Doctor Kennedy has always come when we called or made sure we were taken care by staff until she could get to us. I am truly grateful!
