I have always been very satisfied with the care received by Dr. Beckworth. His prices are reasonable and he is very knowledgable .

So this review is for Dr Beckworth and not Ashe animal hospital as another review says. I had someone recommend him to me so I decided to give it a shot. I just acquired two 8 week old Doberman pups and one was in questionable health as she was a runt. First I was greeted warmly by a nice young lady at the reception desk. Since I had my hands full she filled my cards out for me which I was very appreciative of. The Dr called me into the exam room, yes I am pretty sure there is only one, but it is an awesome old school hometown feel. I will say Dr Beckworth is a soft spoken man, but answers all of your questions and doesn't sugar coat things. He gives you options but openly tells you what he would do if it were his animal. Often his advice can save you a few bucks too! If you want travertine floors and fancy do-dads don't go there. If you want a guy who has probably forgotten more about being a vet than most vets know, this is your guy. I am excited to visit him for years to come. One last closing item, I travel 2.5 hours one way to see him and will continue to for years to come!

Veterinary assistant rude and always sour in attitude. Veterinarian has no "bedside manner", so to speak. I will not recommend to anyone who loves their pet. This area needs a much better and more concerned clinic.

Dr. Beckworth solved an ongoing problem with our cat's eyes that several other area vets (in Boone) had been unable to address. He pays attention to the animal and to information related to animal's condition. We've visited him several times with several pets and plan to continue. Don't be put off by the plain decor. What matters is results.

Best animal clinic around. I have recently moved back to this area and in my absence been to several other veterinarians with my dog. Sure some of their offices are newer with better chairs and bigger vet rooms but their prices definitely reflect it. This is an old time vet who obviously cares more about animals than turning huge profits. This Doc provides everything to keep your animal healthy without breaking the bank. Keep up the great work, you provide an amazing service to your community.
