We have been clients of the Animal Hospital of Boone for many, many years and have always been happy with their service!!! They have always shown compassionate care for all of our animals and worked with us to complete the care that benefited both our animals and ourselves! I would highly recommend them to anyone!

This past fall we had behavioral problems/changes in our 12 year old Australian shepherd, who was having excessive thirst, and started peeing in the house. I took her to Animal Hospital of Boone, whom we had trusted for many years. They took 3 different tests, totaling over $600, and said she had Cushing’s Disease. Medication for her cost us over $100 per month, and I saw no sign of her thirst lessening. I also had several times in a 3 week period that they were severely lacking in their communication skills, ranging from quoting a substantially lower price for a test than the actual price they charged at checkout (the office manager acted like it was my fault about the price difference), giving wrong information about when to bring her in for a test, and forgetting to call me when testing was finished so I could pick her up. I decided to pick up her records, and today took her down to Wilkes Animal Hospital and let them check her out. They examined her test results, of which AHB only included the first 2, and wondered why they even called for more Cushings tests after the first one. They tried to get the results of the 3rd test, and after nearly an hour wait, received it. Turns out that my dog doesn’t have Cushings, and after a urine test, it was determined that she has had a urinary tract infection all this time. All that money wasted on useless tests and medications (this medicine can be extremely harmful to dogs, also) – will never go back to Animal Hospital of Boone!

Dr Johnson and his team are the best. I can't say enough for the compassion they show to my pets and will to yours. Dr Johnson has been my family's vet for fourteen years.

Lovely woman with good rapport (with animals).

Expensive, but most vets are.

Although we live in TN, we have been taking our pups to Dr Johnson in Boone, NC for years. He and his fellow vets have always provided excellent care, be it administration of exams or meds or advice. Their "bedside manner" is spot on as well. The staff up front - often very busy but always pleasant and helpful - also work hard to assure you receive prompt attention. The clinic is clearly an asset to the region.

I couldn't ask for better people to look after my babies, and I have a lot of them. I have been going there for over ten years. A wonderful facility with wonderful people.

You couldn't ask for a more friendly and caring group of Dr's and staff. They are always willing to go above and beyond to help. They truly care about the health and well being of every animal and pet parent that walks in the door.

Dr Johnson, Dr Paris, the staff are FABULOUS. All of the doctors and staff are so very caring. I wish I could go to them for me, that's how wonderful I think they all are. They will fit you in, in an emergency. They allowed me to sit with my dog and hold his paw all day when he had pancreatitis. You couldn't ask for anyone better
