My father was admitted here over a month ago. He looks awesome moves around more and interacts. I can not say enough how nice these people are. Its never smelled like a nursing home, people are always smiling and residents look happy. I went to 3 before I chose this one. They are doing a good job. really pleased with how my father looks.

This facility is not where you would ever,, under any circumstances leave a loved family member. Check out this facility at the Indiana State Board of Health. Find a different facility.

Took a family member here for respite care. His health declined so bad as to bordering on neglect. When approached administrator about my concerns she stated was sorry that this facility could not meet my expectations. The administrator would not even agree to a meeting to discuss my concerns. I am his main caregiver but have 4 other care givers who help me out daily with his needs. They all agreed he was in far worse and shocking condition upon his arrival home.
This isn't rocket science. What I expected from Signature Healthcare at PARKWOOD was for him to be cared for in the manner that all patients should be cared for. For him to be given correct medications, walked and exercised daily, make sure he eats all of his meals. I also asked that he have drinking water in his room at all times. He as alzheimer's and cannot tell you when thirsty. Family members who visited said they never saw him with water.

If you decide to leave a family member at Parkwood please, please check on them daily to see that they are getting proper care.
I know we all need respite care from time to time. However what good does it serve if you can't leave your loved one without worrying that their not receiving ideal and essential everyday care.

For those of you who have a loved member at this facility please see that they are being taken care of. That their needs are being met. Look for signs of neglect and if you see them please report it to the Indiana Board of Health Hotline Division. 1-800-246-8909

Please feel free to email me with any concerns or questions.

Took my father in for respite care in spring of 2014. When he went in he could walk, feed himself & do simple chores like take a lid off of a bottle of water. When I went to pick him up a couple of weeks later he needed 2 persons to assist him with walking. He also could not feed himself without help and could not take a lid off water bottle. He lost about 15 - 20 pounds. He had fallen while in this facility and he had never ever fallen before. He had bruising on legs and buttocks area. He also had a smashed finger. Chaffing around his groin area. Don't believe he was given correct medication. Another medication was being given everyday when bottle states "as needed". I was heart broken by how much his health had declined. I could never in good faith recommend this facility. However I had put him in a couple of years back and was very happy with his care. I will be writing a follow up after I talk with administrator.

I took my loved one to this facility in November of 2012. I was very pleased. I thought he was given the best care. However this was under different management/owners. Was not SIGNATURE HEALTH CARE. However, I have recently just taken a respite care and will be taking him home in a couple of days. I will write a follow up on or around the 2nd week of June 2014.

My father-in-law stayed here for two weeks for a respite stay. During his stay there his glasses were lost THREE times, at the third time they were never to be found. So now he has no glasses.

FIVE pair of his shorts came up missing (Starter brand gym shorts, I wonder what happened to them) and I should mention all of his clothes had his name in them! One pair of slacks and a blanket also went missing. $400 of stuff came up missing and their policy is not to reimburse for lost/stolen items!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Imagine that, must happen all the time for them to have a policy like that! BTW, I had to continue to call because "Ken" was too busy to remember to call me back because "after all he is just one person".

And he came home with bed sores on his bottom!!!!!!!!!!!! After two weeks???? Ugh! If you love your family member... UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES LET THEM STAY AT PARKWOOD SIGNATURE HEALTHCARE!!!!

This place is a joke. The first day we took him there they tried to put him in an unlocked wing. He has Alzheimers! And you should have seen the laundry room! No wonder items come up missing, it was a complete cluster!
