In 2006 I had a miscarriage that resulted in a D&C. Due to the negligence of one of his colleagues, that D&C caused a pelvic infection shortly thereafter, and forced my admission to the hospital for two nights. Dr. Turk's colleague admitted me, but he was then responsible for my care. I had never met him before, but had seen the other doctors in his practice. I informed him of a continual pain low in my pelvis (groin,) which I had begun feeling when I had become pregnant and was still present (despite the antibiotics for the infection.) I plead with him to find the source while I was in the hospital. But instead he implied that I was just having trouble dealing with my miscarriage, was overly sensitive at the time, and should follow up with other types of doctors after he discharged me. I told him I refused to be discharged. He refused to help me and also refused to come back and speak with me, and he went ahead with the discharge. He did NOTHING to help me. And he was rude to me and made me feel as if I was just a pity-seeking miscarriage victim. I have recently become pregnant again and unfortunately my doctor's office has affiliated with his, so it is quite possible he could deliver my baby if he is on call that day. I have expressed my concerns and made it quite clear that if this man even sneezes in my direction, I will be taking legal action. I have held off from suing the entire practice (underlying issue about the miscarried pregnancy,) but I will pursue it if needed.
